If you were waiting to see LeBron James at Madison Square Garden Tuesday night…you’ll have to wait a little longer.
James has been suspended one game for his altercation with Isaiah Stewart in Sunday’s game with the Pistons, and he will serve that suspension Tuesday night when the Lakers visit the Knicks.

In Sunday’s game, James punched Stewart in the face after a free throw, which led to a melee. James received a Flagrant 2 foul and was ejected, and then given the first suspension of his 19-year NBA career. Stewart was suspended for two games.
Tuesday would’ve marked LeBron’s first game at the Garden since Jan. 22, 2020, a 100-92 Lakers win that saw James score 21 points. He was inactive for the Lakers’ visit last season, a 111-96 loss on April 12.
The Knicks will also likely be quite short-handed, as Mitchell Robinson (concussion protocol) is out and both Derrick Rose (ankle) and Taj Gibson (groin) are questionable. Kemba Walker may also be limited, as he played in both Saturday and Sunday’s games, his first back-to-back since the 2019-20 season.
