The Mets will need an emergency starter on Friday night, as Chris Bassitt has been placed on the COVID IL just before his scheduled start against the Rangers.
David Peterson will make the start in Bassitt's place, while R.J. Alvarez takes his place on the roster.
Bassitt holds a 4.01 ERA on the season in 89.2 innings of work.
