The Mets have reportedly added to their outfield depth by signing former Yankee Harrison Bader, according to Andy Martino of SNY.

Per Martino, the deal is for one year and worth approximately $10.5 million.

Bader, a native of Bronxville, New York, played 98 games in pinstripes after coming to the Big Apple as the return piece for Jordan Montgomery at the trade deadline in 2022, and Bader responded by being the team’s most valuable bat in the postseason, hitting five home runs and posting an OPS over 1.250 in 35 plate appearances. But he regressed to the mean in 2023, posting a .643 OPS with the Yankees before he was moved to the Reds, where he slugged just .194 in 34 plate appearances.

The 29-year-old is lauded as an elite defensive outfielder, but offensively, he is not much more than a league-average bat. His career OPS sits at .706 across seven big league seasons.
