The Jets, as expected, will once again be led by Zach Wilson in an absolute must-win game against the Jaguars on Thursday night.
Robert Saleh told reporters on Tuesday morning that Mike White has still not been cleared for contact due to his ribs injury, meaning it will again be Wilson as the starting quarterback, with Gang Green’s fading playoff hopes hanging in the balance.
In Sunday’s loss to the Lions, Wilson made more of the maddening mistakes that led to his benching earlier in the season, including a costly interception in the third quarter, another bad pass that could have been picked off but was instead saved by Michael Carter, and missed throws to open receivers that led to frustrated reactions, including Garrett Wilson.
White hoped to play against Detroit, and saw “at least 10” different doctors to try and be cleared, but after taking two heavy hits against the Bills in Buffalo (he returned to that game), White is still not ready to go.
