Gio: Mike White only New York quarterback to play 'competently' since Eli Manning

Gio was horrified at the quarterback play displayed in Sunday’s Jets/Giants slop, as third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito threw for negative passing yards for Big Blue, and Zach Wilson struggled again for Gang Green, posting his worst completion percentage of the season.

It’s a familiar sentiment for Gio, as he has been craving quality quarterback play in New York for years, and says the only time there has been that level of play in the Big Apple was when Mike White was filling in for Wilson.

“The quarterback play that we have had to endure in this town since the end of the Eli Manning era, when he wasn’t even playing well in the last couple years, has been borderline criminal,” Gio said. “It is pathetic.

“All over the league, guys come out of nowhere, guys like Will Levis…the best quarterback we have seen here in like seven years is Mike White. Honestly. He’s the only guy who has played the position competently since the end of Eli Manning.”

Sure, Daniel Jones led the Giants to the playoffs last season and earned a four-year, $160 million contract, but Gio says White is the only quarterback in New York since Manning to show quality arm strength, something that was sorely lacking in Sunday’s slop.

“Even Daniel Jones last year, he had a great game against the Vikings last year, and a couple other good games. But only 15 touchdowns,” Gio said. “The best throwing quarterback we have seen here in the last seven years was like four games of Mike White.

“There are guys in the NFL, not even the top guys, pick anyone, that could play a better game drunk, and on psychedelics.”
