Morash, Yankee fans rip choice to play 'New York, New York' at stadium after World Series loss

As the Dodgers mobbed each other on the Yankee Stadium infield following the final out of the World Series, Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” played through the speakers in the Bronx.

It is the tune that famously plays after every game, but it has often been criticized that the classic song plays even after Yankee losses.

This time, after one of the worst Yankee losses in recent memory, fans were extra furious about hearing the tune as Dodgers celebrated winning a title over the Bombers in game five.

“I know you play New York New York no matter what,” Shaun Morash posted on X. ”But you CANNOT do that tonight as another team celebrates.”

Shaun was far from the only one, as countless fans and social media personalities flooded the web to voice their shock and anger over the Yankees playing Sinatra as the season came to a painful end.

The Yankees used to play a different version of the song after losses, but that was nixed, and it has been played no matter the outcome ever since. Fans are clearly calling for a change after a brutal loss in game five of the Fall Classic, in which the Yanks came apart with two errors in a five-run fifth that led to the biggest comeback in a clinching game in 99 years.
