Nets waive forward James Johnson

The Nets are guaranteed at least one postseason game but James Johnson will not be a part of that run, as the team announced Thursday they have requested waivers on the forward.

Johnson played 62 games for the Nets this year, averaging 5.5 points, 3/5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 19.2 minutes per game, and he has been inactive for the last two games due to illness.

The 13-year vet has played 747 career games with Brooklyn, New Orleans, Dallas, Minnesota, Miami, Toronto, Memphis, Sacramento and Chicago, averaging 7.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 20.5 minutes per game.
