By the midway point of the third period in game one, the Rangers had already gotten more pucks past Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy than the Panthers did during the entire conference semifinals series.

So, with New York up 6-2, the Madison Square Garden crowd let the visiting netminder know about it.

With just under 12 minutes to go in the third, the sellout crowd began a deafening chant of “Igor’s better!” at Vasilevskiy, as Igor Shesterkin stood between the pipes at the other end of the ice with a comfortable lead, continuing his elite play since game five of the first round.

The Eastern Conference Final was highlighted as an epic goalie battle, but it was certainly one-sided in the series opener, despite the Rangers having just one night off in between series after going the distance with the Hurricanes.
