The Knicks find themselves with an almost identical record to where they were at this point last season, before a surprisingly impactful trade for Derrick Rose ignited the offense and led to a second-half surge that pushed the Knicks to the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Now, as the trade deadline inches closer, could New York make a similar move to help the team catch fire down the stretch?

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Knicks could be looking for frontcourt help to help with their playoff push.

Charania reported on Monday that New York has interest in both Myles Turner and Jerami Grant, both on teams seemingly going nowhere in the Eastern Conference this season. Turner is currently leading the league with 2.9 blocks per game this season after leading the league in that category last year. The 25-year-old is averaging 12.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while shooting 51.4 percent from the field this season.

Per Charania, the Mavericks are also expressing interest in a trade for Turner, while the Lakers and Horners have also had “a level of interest” in the veteran center.

Grant, who is averaging 20.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game with the Pistons this season, is also drawing interest from the Trail Blazers and Lakers. He is currently recovering from a thumb injury and will likely be dealt, as the 27-year-old would be in line for an extension worth as much as $112 million this offseason.
