Sal goes off on John Mara, 'main culprit' for state of Giants: 'Id' wake up today and fire myself!'

Sal is done watching the Giants after a loss to the Panthers on Sunday, and says it has gotten so bad that his belief in Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen is becoming something that he can no longer defend.

“I still believe Daboll can be a good coach,” Sal said. “After losing that game, my argument to keep him is certainly less. I still think they would be making a mistake, but I can’t go nuts anymore because the record is what it is, and they shouldn’t be losing all of those games that they have lost.

“Mara said he didn’t anticipate making any changes. Well, he probably didn’t anticipate losing to the Panthers either.”

But Sal says fans clamoring for the team to fire the head coach and general manager are targeting their blame at the wrong source, as it should start at the top.

“To me, the main culprit is the owner,” Sal said. “If I were John Mara, I’d wake up today and fire myself! That’s how bad he’s been. Their problems go back years, whether it’s pushing Coughlin out, hiring McAdoofus, allowing Gettleman to draft a running back second overall, and then forcing Schoen and Daboll to extend Daniel Jones…every step of the way, it’s been wrong decisions, and it starts at the top with Mara.”

The Giants have seemingly sunk to a new low, now 2-8 after losing to arguably the worst team in football. There seems to be no way out, and Sal says there has been one common denominator in this painful run of losing since the team’s last Super Bowl win.

“The problem is,” Sal said. “He’s not going anywhere.”
