BT and Sal have not been shy in their opinion that Robert Saleh shouldn’t be the head coach of the Jets any longer, and Sal has a candidate to take over.
“If I’m Woody Johnson - I am actually begging you on behalf of every Jets fan in this town - you gotta stop hiring these first-time head coaches,” Sal said. “You tried, and it’s not working. Go back to getting a known commodity.”
So, who would he bring in? Jim Harbaugh.
“Harbaugh is a winner. Always was,” Sal said. “He was in the NFL, has been in college to a certain extent…he’s a great coach. You don’t hand over the keys to Aaron Rodgers. You hand it over to Jim Harbaugh.”
Harbaugh, currently in the college ranks with Michigan, hasn’t coached in the NFL since taking the job with the Wolverines in 2015. He has generated interest from teams, but hasn’t returned, though BT would never dismiss the success he has had at the collegiate level, dating back to his early years before making his NFL coaching debut with the 49ers.
“He was great with Stanford,” BT said. “He beat Pete Carroll. He was great with Stanford late.”
