Davante Adams only fueled more Jets trade speculation after addressing the growing rumors on the Club Shay Shay podcast with Shannon Sharpe on Wednesday.
The star wide receiver said that he is locked in with the Raiders, but if he were to play somewhere else, he would want it to be reunited with Aaron Rodgers. Tiki and Morash believe this is the latest piece of evidence that there is some truth to the rumors of a potential Jets/Raiders deal.
“To me, it seems very clear based on Rodgers’ little comment at his golf game,” Morash said. “Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams have discussed reuniting and playing together. At a bare minimum, that has happened.”
Tiki says Adams’ comments aren’t the only sign pointing towards the trade talks being real. Adams’ agents coming out and strongly denying the rumors had the opposite effect.
“If you don’t care about something, or it’s not true, you just ignore it,” Tiki said. “Indifference in this case is better. Just ignore it. To come out and directly address it tells you that there’s some basis to it.
“I wasn’t paying attention until Boomer said that there is some fire around this smoke, and when his agents came out and said something. That’s when I started saying, ‘This has to be something.’ Otherwise, they wouldn’t have come out and talked about it.”
