Tiki and Morash were live on the air as the final out was recorded in the Mets’ loss to the A’s on Thursday, and both agreed that it was one of the worst losses of a season where New York needs to stack as many victories as possible to stay in the race.
“You can’t lose series like this…this Mets team is one of the most frustrating teams you’ve ever seen, because they’re good but they just can’t find it consistently,” Tiki said.
“They’re a tease. One day they play bad, and the next day they say so well that you say ‘OK, they’re back.’”
Morash sounded off on the “inexcusable” loss, and believes it could be a sign that the wheels are coming off on the season.
“I’m sorry, I know they’ve played better baseball of late. At home, against the A’s, you can’t lose that series,” Morash said. “I think this is the most inexcusable loss of the season for the Mets.
“I think they’ve let go of the rope…you cannot come back from a day off and lose two of three to Oakland. I’m sorry, things are getting out of control.”
