The polls are closed, the tallies are in, and…congratulations to Boomer Esiason and Gregg Giannotti, the new President and Vice President of the WFAN airwaves!
Tuesday is Election Day, and with a bit of whimsy (see what we did there?), Al Dukes posted a poll on Twitter early in the morning: Which WFAN duo would you vote for if they were running for President and Vice President?
The choices were made based on how the shows are titled, so the tickets were Boomer/Gio, Moose/Maggie, Carton/Roberts and Dukes/Recco…even though even Gio questioned whether Maggie Gray was more Presidential than Marc Malusis, and someone on Twitter wanted to write in Mike & The Mad Dog.
Regardless, the results are in, and it’s B&G in a near-majority!
And although WFAN’s Twitter chose “Go Screw!” as a possible campaign slogan for the morning team, Boomer gave his own during Tuesday’s show: “Practical optimism, that’s what we have going for us!”
“But Jerry and I are leading the Electoral votes,” Al shot back, oblivious to the fact that Long Island has so many more fake electoral votes than the Jersey Shore - so Boomer, in a very Presidential manner, replied: “But you guys are so damn negative!”
Sorry to be a Debbie Downer here, Al, but WFAN is popular vote only, so thanks to the nearly 7,000 that voted, it’s time to pledge allegiance to President Booms and VPG…now let’s get JJ in as press secretary so we can hear those golden pipes ahadafawhyows! (that’s “in the FAN White House” for those not from Staten Island)
In all seriousness, folks, today is perhaps the most important day on the calendar every year, so please, go out and exercise your right to vote!
