Odell Beckham Jr. is expecting the birth of his first child any day now, and even told reporters he was potentially willing to leave preparation for Super Bowl LVI early if need be, saying “my phone is right here, I’m on call.”
OBJ didn’t have to leave early, although he did leave the game late in the first half due to a non-contact knee injury and did not return – but all’s well that ends well, as not only did Beckham’s Rams come back to win the Lombardi Trophy, he also got to celebrate on the field with girlfriend Lauren Wood and their soon-to-be-addition:
Yes, that’s Beckham hugging his mom, Heather Van Norman – wearing her son’s jersey with “Mama Bear” on the name tag – before an emotional OBJ spends a minute cuddling Wood’s baby bump.
OBJ, who is a free agent to be, also thanked the fans on Twitter, and now can bask in the afterglow of a Lombardi Trophy while waiting to bask in the glow of fatherhood very soon.
