Kevin Durant stood on the floor of the Barclays Center Tuesday night while “MVP” chants rained down from the Brooklyn crowd.
But those chants weren’t for Durant. They were meant for former teammate Steph Curry, who was early on in what was a thorough domination of the Nets.

Curry, who went on to drop 37 points while shooting 12-for-19 from the field, stepped up to the foul line in the second quarter with Golden State down a pair, and heard the visiting crowd chant “MVP” during his free throws, while Durant, in the midst of a monster season of his own, stood just a few feet away.
“It was definitely weird,” Curry said. “Throughout that run, we turned a lot of arenas into that, during those three years especially. It’s fun, for us. We appreciate the support.”
Curry and the surging Warriors blew out Durant and Brooklyn on Tuesday, with Curry hitting his first four 3-pointers and never slowing down. Meanwhile, Durant was held to a season-low 19 points.
“He's a master at what he does,” Durant said of Curry. “I've been saying that since we came into the league. Crafty player that can pretty much do anything off the ball, even cut to the rim, shoot floaters, shoot threes, and can handle the basketball.”
