Hoff gave BT a quick exercise on Thursday, tasking him with ranking the top prospects among the Mets and Yankees in regards to who would have the best careers.
The candidates? Oswaldo Cabrera, Oswald Peraza, Anthony Volpe, Brett Baty, Ronny Mauricio, Mark Vientos, Francisco Alvarez, and BT threw in Jasson Dominguez as well.
"I think that Brett Baty's gonna be the Mets' No. 3 hitter for a long time," BT said. "Whenever that starts, he will be there for a decade.
"I'm gonna say Baty and Volpe are 1 and 1A. Mauricio is No. 2. I'm gonna say Jasson Dominguez is 3, Vientos is gonna be next, followed by Alvarez, followed by Peraza and Cabrera. I like the Mets players better. I do."
Cabrera has been in the majors the longest of the group, but BT isn't very high on his ceiling.
"Do I see Cabrera hitting 30 home runs with a .900 OPS? No, not even close," BT said. "Do I think Mauricio can do that? Yeah, I do."
