True Story: Kentucky refused to buy Saint Peter's' ticket allotment for Thursday

Hey Jersey City, looking for tix to tonight’s Saint Peter’s-Murray State game in Indy?

Funny story related to that: according to SI.com, earlier this week, Saint Peter’s asked Kentucky if they would buy the remainder of their tickets for Thursday’s game, as they couldn’t fill their allotment.

Makes sense, right? Saint Peter’s is a small school in New Jersey, so heading to Indianapolis on a Thursday to probably watch the Peacocks lose to the powerful Wildcats was a tough sell – and smaller schools like that often ask bigger ones to full their seats.

Kentucky declined, telling Saint Peter’s they were only interested in selling tickets for both Thursday and Saturday, so they had no use for one game’s worth of tickets.

Oops.

Perhaps, now, Peacock Nation can look to buy the Wildcats’ tickets for Saturday, given that it’s them and not Kentucky playing tonight thanks to Thursday’s 85-79 win that marked just the tenth time a 15 seed has beaten a two in the tourney.

Those who are in Indy Saturday night could see even bigger history: only twice in the previous nine outings has a 15 seed reached the Sweet 16, with Florida Gulf Coast toppling Georgetown and San Diego State in 2013 and Oral Roberts besting Ohio State and Florida in 2021.
