Shohei Ohtani’s agent spoke with reporters on Tuesday, and after hearing the interview, Jerry Recco is convinced that the two-way superstar is going to be with the Mets next season, at the latest.

“I have come to the conclusion, he’s gonna be a Met next year,” Jerry said. “He might be a Met this year.

“You think of a lineup of Ohtani, Lindor, Alonso…”

Boomer threw another log on the Mets hot stove, pointing to another pending free agent that could be on his way to Queens after telling reporters that he plans to opt out of his deal after this season.

“There’s another player that could be coming here,” Boomer said. “That player is Manny Machado.”

As for Ohtani, certain to be the prized free agent next offseason if he isn’t traded prior to this year’s trade deadline, Boomer would caution against a long-term deal, though he assumed Ohtani will seek a record AAV in contract negotiations.

“That’s not a 10-year deal waiting to happen,” Boomer said. “The team would get him at 30…let’s say you want seven years, $350 million. Or is someone gonna go higher than that? AAV has gotta be somewhere around $50 million.”
