As the NFL weekend approaches, Sal says Week 2 for New York football may be one of the most important for both teams, given what happened the week before and what could happen the rest of the way.
"I don't think we're gonna see a more important, more telling week of football for both local teams, than what we have ahead of us come Sunday," Sal said.
"The Giants, it is a must win for them…they have to win this football game. You can't start 0-2, get blown out by the Cowboys on Sunday night, then lose to one of the worst teams in the NFL in the Cardinals."
On the other side for the Jets, Sal says Sunday could be very telling for the rest of the season if Gang Green even gives the Cowboys and their elite pass rush a scare, and shows they can compete with a top-tier team with Zach Wilson. But it could also show that Wilson is nowhere near ready for the starting role, which would be equally telling on the other end of the spectrum.
"The Jets…what if they play well? What if they compete with the Cowboys here?" Sal said. "This can be telling one way or another. Bad, if Zach Wilson is awful and they do get run out of the building, or good, if they compete. This is a very telling Week 2."
BT agrees with the importance of this weekend, but much more so for Big Blue coming off a blowout loss to Dallas in Week 1.
"I want the Jets to win and Zach Wilson to play well," BT said. "But I need the Giants to win."
