Xavier McKinney’s 2022 season was derailed when he broke his hand during an ATV accident while he was away on his bye week, and he opened up about what happened while talking with Evan and Tiki on Monday at Giants camp.

“I was on like a dune buggy almost. It's like a bigger version. It's the one with more seats in it,” McKinney explained.

“But basically, the buggy just tilted over, I tried to put my hand down. I was in the seat belt. So I tried to put my hand down and the top bar just kind of smashed on it.”

McKinney missed seven games, returned for a few snaps in Week 16, then played in both playoff games for Big Blue. McKinney told Evan and Tiki he was thankful that he didn’t have to miss more time.

“Luckily, I was able to come out that that situation with just a hand, because it could have been a lot worse,” McKinney said. “I didn't come out with any scratches or anything else. I tried to recover myself, putting a hand on the ground, but you know, the bar was there.”
