The Yankees are reportedly calling up Spencer Jones in the wake of Jasson Dominguez's injury.
According to multiple reports, Jones is getting the call to make his MLB debut, as Yankee fans will finally get a look at Jones' light-tower power at the big-league level.
Jones, the sixth-ranked prospect in the Yankee organization according to MLB Pipeline, has smacked 11 home runs with Triple-A Scranton so far this season. The lefty slugger hit 35 homers in the minors last season, but strikeouts remain a concern, striking out in over a third of his plate appearances.
Dominguez had been showing promise in his most recent major league test, but slammed into the left field wall in Thursday's series finale against the Rangers. Dominguez was removed from the game after making a sparkling catch in the top of the first, and was diagnosed with an AC sprain in his left shoulder, and will be heading to the IL.
Jones hit .357 with a brilliant 1.526 OPS and six home runs in 13 spring training games this year.
Jones would replace Jasson Dominguez, who Aaron Boone said is heading to the IL.
