After the tragic passing of longtime "Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek, Mayim Bialik emerged as one of the fan-favorite hosts.

Bialik has been co-hosting with former champ Ken Jennings since last fall, and they have both expressed interest in making the position more permanent.
But before anything is established, the actress revealed that producers of the show told her to tone down some of her hosting quirks that have led to some jumping off Team Bialik.
In a new in-depth conversation with The Daily Beast, the “Call Me Kat” star explains her view of the ongoing “Jeopardy!” hosting conundrums.
“One of my biggest challenges,” Bialik explains, “is I’m so impressed that people know the answers that they’ve asked me to tone down how excited I am when people get them right, which I think is a great note to get.”
"I think as a woman there’s a special consideration,” said Bialik, “because when women sound definitive or stern it’s a different message than when men sound definitive or stern. And a lot of times when people will say, “Oh, you sound like you think you know it all,’ I’ll think, gosh, that’s just because I’m using an affirmative voice. One of the neat things about having a woman in this role is it’s bringing up a lot of questions about the labels we put on those things.”

Well if the “Jeopardy!” gig doesn’t pan out, Bialik’s always got acting to fall back on, and apparently now directing, too.
Her first directorial effort, “As They Made Us,” is out now. She must have impressed someone with her talents, as she got legendary actors Dustin Hoffman and Candice Bergen to star in the family drama.
