Thanks to a resurfaced photo of Summer’s 1979 spread in Rona Barrett's Hollywood Magazine, shared by music critic Craig Seymour, Twitter is in a straight up a frenzy. With the post gaining over 30,000 likes and counting from fans who can’t get over the striking resemblance between Rowland and Summer.
Nope — you didn’t miss anything, an official biopic has not been announced. But since when does that stop the internet? As the campaign for Kelly Rowland to play the late music legend and disco queen has officially begun.
"My wife showed me a pic for half a second and asked me to guess who it was. The way I said Kelly Rolland so fast 😂😂😂," one Twitter user wrote, replying to Seymour's tweet, before several others also hopped on board suggesting Rowland was made for the role.
Yet to weigh in on the matter is Rowland herself. And despite Twitter already imagining Kelly swaying and slaying that 70s-style as she belts out "Last Dance” or “No More Tears.” For now, it just remains a Twitter dream.
