Just as The Pretty Reckless was about to jump into their song “Witches Burn,” frontwoman Taylor was being told by members of the crowd -- in Spanish -- that she had something stuck to her leg.
That something happened to be a bat, which latched onto her dress -- and skin, apparently -- requiring a visit to the hospital to receive a round of rabies shots.
Momsen shared the incident via a series of clips on her Instagram, showing her oblivious to what the crowd was telling her until she finally sees the creature for herself. "There's a f***ing flying bat on my leg right now," she tells the crowd and stagehands. "Can someone help me, please?"
"I must really be a witch," Momsen joked as the bat clung to her, assuring attendees the bat was "fine" after one of the roadies took it off her leg. "He's going to be my new friend." Taylor then cut the video to show her in the hospital with red marks on her leg receiving treatment. "He was cute, but yes he bit me... so rabies shots for the next two weeks," she captioned the clip, also thanking the staff and joking that they "dubbed me #batgirl after seeing it on the local news that morning."
In the comments section, Momsen’s friend Natasha Bedingfield asked if the experience hurt, to which she replied, "The bite? No. The shots? YES." The next day, Taylor was greeted backstage with a strict no-bats policy. Oh, you guys...
