Slash shares what’s next with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators

The new album, ‘Flying Blind,’ arrives everywhere on February 26

Audacy Check In: Slash

Somewhere between shows with Guns N’ Roses, producing Horror movies, and raising a couple kick ass kids, Slash has found space to put together another Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators album, Flying Blind, which arrives everywhere on February 26.

The guitar god recently zoomed in with Abe Kanan to talk about the group’s lead single and title track, “Flying Blind,” which matches Myles soaring vocals with Slash’s unmistakable searing sound. The group will also celebrate new music with a massive world tour, which is no easy feat given Slash’s schedule.

“When we do a record, we've always done a world tour, but it's gotten more complicated because I got back into Guns N’ Roses and that sort of changed the amount of time and all that, that I could be able to do anything,” shares Slash. “Same with Myles doing Alter Bridge and everybody's doing all this different stuff. So when we did this record, we actually found a window to go into pre-production, which was last year. And then after that found another window to go in the studio and actually record everything. We did this in segments where everybody was available. And so we carved out 2027 for the year that we're gonna tour.”

Reluctant to talk about material he’s putting out, even Slash has to admit that the band’s latest project is a “cool record.”

“I listened to it yesterday for a couple of songs, because I have not listened to the mastered CD yet, and I put it on, I was like, ‘f***, this sounds really good.’”

As part of one of America’s most iconic band, Slash has still always found time for other projects, from Michael Jackson solos to Slash’s Snake Pit, Velvet Revolver, and beyond.

“When I got back into Guns N’ Roses, I was like, ‘well, one thing I'm not going to do is I'm not going to disband the Conspirators,’ because that is something that we as a band established that we really love to do, and so I keep that going.”

“I do other stuff too, because Guns is on the road for huge chunks of time and you're not doing anything else but that, but then you come home for a couple of months and I can't sit still. So next thing you know, I'm recording or we're doing whatever.”
