Disney is looking for even more “Magic.”
It’s the 50th anniversary for the entertainment giant, and as the vaccine arrives like tinkerbell spreading fairy dust over the castle, the timing couldn’t be more wonderful.
To celebrate, Disney is giving away 50 visits to Walt Disney World.
But rather than just a random drawing, Disney is taking inspiration from the last difficult pandemic year and asking people to nominate someone for the prize, rather than just enter themselves.
Calling them “Magic Makers,” Disney is hoping to award those who have been an inspiration during these tough times.
As Yahoo!Life explains, nominations will be accepted through October 1, 2021, online or via social media. You can submit nominations at disneymagicmakers.com; and on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or TikTok you can use the hashtag #DisneyMagicMakers to share your stories of the “Magic Maker” who inspired you.
The Disney site describes “Magic Makers” as people who’ve participated in "sincere acts between neighbors to massive acts of charity, kindness, and generosity."
“All of us at Disney have been inspired by the countless acts of goodwill by people across the country throughout the pandemic,” said Chairman of Disney Parks Experiences and Products Josh D’Amaro. “These magic makers and their stories have changed us in ways we never imagined. That’s why we’re so proud to celebrate those who continue to make everyday magic a reality.”
The 50 winners will get the free trip and a year subscription to Disney+.
The honoring won’t stop at the 50 winners either. Disney will also be donating a total of $400,000 to organizations that they believe are magic makers themselves, including Make-A-Wish, Starlight Children's Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and The Nature Conservancy.
