These 15 songs are turning 15 in 2021

You know that feeling you get when you hear a song you used to love after it’s been awhile? As soon as you turn it on, you turn it up and are transported back to the moment when it first entered your world and subconscious. It could be the soundtrack to an old love story or a pregame bop from the good ol’ days, but these fifteen hits are sure to hit you in your feels.

Listen to your favorite music now on Audacy

Let’s take it back to 2006 and allow us to channel your inner “remember this?!” with some popular faves and a few solid tracks you haven’t heard since way back when.

"Promiscuous" - Nelly Furtado ft. Timbaland

Nelly Furtado's smash hit following her debut, "I'm Like A Bird," was a commercial success. It was her first single to chart No. 1. Plus it topped four charts: Billboard’s Pop 100, Hot Dance Club Songs, Mainstream Top 40 and the Billboard Hot 100.

"SOS" - Rihanna

This is a top karaoke song and instantly shifts moods as soon as the beat drops. It was also Rihanna's first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100. Fun fact: the song was intended for Christina Milian after L.A. Reid allegedly begged her to record it, but it was passed on to Rih.

"London Bridge" - Fergie

Oh s***! This song is a classic pop song with a sexual innuendo. "London Bridge" was the lead single from her debut, solo album and rightfully, topped the charts.

"Me & U" - Cassie

People love to throw shade Cassie's way, but Ryan Leslie did what needed to be done with her debut. It was such a hit on MySpace and don't act like you weren't dancing in front of your mirror to this. Funny enough, if you weren't a fan of this at first, neither was Cassie.

"My Love" - Justin Timberlake

This is such an underrated love song. Timbaland's production is an obvious nod to Aaliyah's "Are You That Somebody?" and yet it doesn't feel dated on "My Love." The "percussive ballad" also took home a GRAMMY in 2007 for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

"Deja Vu" - Beyoncé ft. Jay-Z

"Deja Vu" kicked off one of Bey's best albums. She expressed that she wanted each song to have live instrumentation and it felt like the beginning of Bey coming into her own. Plus, the video is beautifully shot and highlights the singer at her peak in every way.

"When You're Mad" - Ne-Yo

Ne-Yo's debut album as a whole is one of those projects with no skips. While "Stay" feels like peak summertime kickoff, "When You're Mad" is sweet. Is it cute when your partner pisses you off? Absolutely not. However, Ne-Yo made it playful. You can't stay mad with a song like this.

"Too Little, Too Late" - JoJo

This was every teenage girl's anthem in 2006, whether you had begun dating or not. JoJo just had the right words to sing along with.

"Money Maker" - Ludacris ft. Pharrell

One of the original twerk anthems, this jam from Luda & Pharrell took over the streets in the Summer of '06. It also peaked No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Rap Songs and spent 31 weeks on the charts.

"I Know You See It" - Yung Joc

When you think of Yung Joc, many immediately think of Love & Hip Hop and "It's Going Down," it was his second single that unabashedly showed Joc loved women, money and sex. What a combination.

"So What" - Field Mob ft. Ciara

During a time when Disturbing Tha Peace and Jazzy Pha had the streets on lock, this Hip Hop/R&B duet definitely deserved more love. The Ciara cosign garnered Field Mob's first top 10 single.

"Showstopper" - Danity Kane

Making The Band was one of the reality shows that paved the way. It was a moment; hence why we need it on any streaming service. We digress. Danity Kane was the first successful band to come from the widely popular show and we, as fans, were so included in every process of recording the single, the entire album and watching the visual come to life. Real ones remember that the final dance scene was shot right before dawn.

"Put Your Records On" - Corinne Bailey Rae

This was a perfect feel-good song. The visual is soft, airy and freeing. It interpolates Bob Marley's classic, "Three Little Birds" and despite the song being nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the GRAMMYs, Rae was "shocked" by the response because she felt it was "underproduced." Guess simplicity really is key.

"Moment In Time" - Cherish

Cherish, comprised of four sisters (Felisha, Fallon, Farrah and Neosha King), entered the scene with their club banger, "Do It To It." It was one of those dancing songs that no party was complete without. However, it was their ballads that held so much promise. We especially love the a capella version of "Moment In Time."

"Say I" - Christina Milian ft. Young Jeezy

After turning down "SOS," Christina went on to record "Say I." The visual stayed in rotation on TRL and 106 & Park. Also, did you know vocal powerhouse, Jazmine Sullivan co-wrote this bop?
