The Oregon Ducks bounced back from a demoralizing road loss the week before to nab a spectacular win over bitter rival Oregon State, 38-29. Quarterback Anthony Brown produced one of his better performances going 23/28 through the air, 275 yards and two scores. He also managed to scamper for 83 yards on the ground and another score. It was an incredible turnaround for a player who has faced adversity through most of this season.

That includes a barrage of boos from his home crowd during their win over Cal earlier this season.

Brown has heard this criticism and taken most of it in stride. “The road that I had here at Oregon wasn’t the smoothest path… which is fine,” the senior quarterback told media members after Saturday’s win. “But like I said, I wouldn’t change it because it led me to this point and made me a better person.”

Transferring from Boston College, many fans anticipated he could be a changing force post Justin Herbert. Even though Brown has experienced rocky moments this past season, he seemed happy to go out the way he did. “Today, with Senior Day and everything, it was just special going out the way I did.”

A new quarterback will be under center for the Ducks come next season. It will most likely be highly touted freshman Ty Thompson. Depending on the Ducks’ ability to make/win a Rose Bowl, Anthony Brown will soon be forgotten. But his place as a transition quarterback for this program will live on.
