Kayvon Thibodeaux is a force of nature on the football field so far this season. His most recent performance against UCLA notched him nine tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble. He also grabbed the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week, given to the best defensive player.
He is the guy offensive coordinators pull their hair out over. He is a force with No.1 NFL Draft Pick talent coursing through his veins.

But will Kayvon go No. 1 in the NFL Draft this upcoming season?

Conventional knowledge would suggest the best player should be drafted to the worst team. We’ve seen defensive ends like Mario Williams be selected No. 1 overall and go on to have solid careers. The road block for Thibodeaux to ascend to the top spot in the draft is team needs. If the Detroit Lions continue to go winless, it’s almost a certainty they will draft Kayvon, knowing head coach Dan Campbell’s propensity for defensive players.

Near the bottom of the NFL standings are also teams like the Texans, Dolphins and Jets. There can be arguments made that the Texans and Jets would prefer drafting a quarterback over Thibodeaux if the No. 1 pick falls into their laps. Most analysts agree, this is a sub-par quarterback class heading into the 2022 draft, which may create more desire for the best player on the board.

Whatever the case, Kayvon Thibodeaux will more than likely enjoy a very successful career in the NFL, no matter which team drafts him.
