You’ve heard of the seventh inning stretch…well what about the eighth inning scratch?

Yes, indeed, it was a hairy bottom of the eighth at Yankee Stadium Monday, as a small cat got loose on the field during Aaron Judge’s at-bat – and spent the next few minutes vexing the grounds crew as it searched for a way out of the House that Ruth Built.

Take a look courtesy of our good friend Jomboy:

As you can see, kitty finally got away through a gate on the left field side and into the concourse, and while we wait for the Jomboy breakdown (perhaps when he guest hosts Moose & Maggie with Maggie Gray on Friday?) and/or Kevin Harlan to call the play-by-play, Brendan Kuty of NJ.com was chronicling the aftermath in the here and meow:

Just another day at the Stadium, but, perhaps, after a listless 7-1 Yankees loss to the Orioles Monday, this striped tabby will be the opposite of the MetLife Stadium black cat from 2019 and spur the Yankees on a run?

One thing is for sure: when the concession stands close tonight, it’s time to hide the milk!
