Not much has gone right for Cleveland in the early going (to give you an idea of how things are going, Case Keenum and D’Ernest Johnson will be in the lineup when the Broncos come to town Thursday night), but Pro Bowl pass-rusher Myles Garrett has been a bright spot, leading the NFL in sacks while also holding PFF’s third-highest grade among edge defenders (that’s out of 105 positional qualifiers). Garrett’s torment of opposing quarterbacks isn’t limited to between the lines, extending off the field to his front lawn, which includes grave markers for Justin Fields, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow and Kyler Murray, among other victims.
Speaking of Murray, the Cardinals QB had a bone to pick with Garrett after Sunday’s game, questioning his choice in Halloween decorations.
Garrett did get to Murray for one sack Sunday, though his efforts would go to waste as the Cardinals—playing without their head coach Kliff Kingsbury—remained undefeated, annihilating the Browns, 37-14, in Cleveland. The two were complimentary of each other after the game, with Murray remarking, “You’re the best at it, man.” Vegas would seem to agree with that assessment as Garrett has emerged as an early favorite for Defensive Player of the Year, holding +350 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
