The Washington Football Team has reached a settlement with a group of former cheerleaders who reportedly appeared in lewd videos secretly produced by team employees without their knowledge.

Details of the terms of the deal were not disclosed, the Washington Post reported on Wednesday. The deal was reached without a lawsuit being filed, ESPN reported.

A lawyer representing Washington and team owner Daniel Snyder said the matter has been "resolved," the WaPo article said.

The settlement comes after the existence of the sleazy videos, reportedly comprised of outtakes from a pair of team swimsuit calendar shoots, was first reported last summer.

The cheerleaders, whose nipples and pubic areas could reportedly be partially seen in the videos, retained prominent lawyers Lisa Banks and Gloria Allred as their attorneys soon after.

Two former team employees reportedly told the Post that they were charged with making the video at the behest of former team president Larry Michael, and one said Michael had suggested the video was requested by team owner Daniel Snyder.

Both Michael and Snyder denied knowledge of existence of the tape.

The settlement comes as the NFL appears to be nearing a conclusion to its months-long investigation of Washington's workplace culture, which came under intense scrutiny last year amid allegations by more than a dozen former female employees of rampant sexual harassment.

Commissioner Roger Goodell suggested last week that the investigation was coming to a close.

Separately, Washington suspended its cheerleader program indefinitely this week, citing the coronavirus. However, several cheerleaders told the Post they saw the suspension as retaliation over the video incident.

Washington's cheerleader program is one of the most prominent in the NFL, according to the Post, with an active alumni network stretching back decades.
