DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms with star wide receiver Julio Jones on a deal that will make him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL.
Since being drafted sixth overall by the Falcons in 2011, Jones has hauled in 698 receptions on 1,095 targets for 10,731 yards and 51 touchdowns, while finishing as the NFL's leading receiver twice.
Jones has also averaged 96.7 yards per game for his career and has a catch percentage of 63.7-percent in his 111 appearances in a Falcons uniform.
During his eight seasons with Atlanta, Jones has been selected to six Pro Bowls, including five-straight, and has been selected to the First-Team All-Pro twice. Jones only missed the Pro Bowl during his rookie campaign, and in his third season, when he missed five games due to injury.
Despite playing in one of the toughest divisions in football, Jones has managed to help lead the Falcons to the playoffs in four of his eight seasons, including reaching a Super Bowl in 2016.
The Falcons and their newly extended wide receiver will open the regular season on the road against the Minnesota Vikings on September 8th.
