Cowboys Owner Jones: "Jerry Go Fix It, Even If Its Wrong. Go Fix It"

DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - When Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked by the K&C show what his response would be to fans saying that the Dallas Cowboys team quit on Jason Garrett. It seems he hung up on them, but it was not so.

But rewind and go back to the beginning, and the interview started off pretty hot when Jerry Jones was asked if he was embarrassed by the loss to the Bears.

“Get your damn act together yourself. OK? Settle down just a little bit" said Jerry Jones. "I don’t like your attitude to come in. I’ve been traveling all night and don’t have the patience to jack with you today.”

Ok. Breathe. Reset. Start Over.

Jones says the blame for who is out there playing is on the GM and the GM happens to be the owner.

When asked if he shared the same feeling that the fans do about the team and the coach, Jones said he shared in the anger. He also said he understand where the fans are coming from.

"I've seen frustration from the fans. And I've seen it from everyone here" said Jones. "There's no one in the NFL more responsible for what's going on on the field than me."

In a matchup between disappointing teams that made the playoffs last season, the Bears (7-6) came away with their fourth win in five games after dropping four in a row. The Cowboys (6-7) have lost seven of 10 since a 3-0 start.

"We're not playing very well" said Jones. "I know this team is capable of playing better than it is."

But are the Cowboys not playing well because of injuries? "They had a lot of people missing last night, a lot of players they were counting on, lost a top player during the game. It just shows the good job they did." said Jones.

Kicker Brett Maher was also a topic of conversation with Jones. Maher is 20 for 30 on field goals this season after going 1 of 2. The 10 misses are more than any other NFL kicker has had in a season the past four years.

"You evaluate what you've got relative to what is available to you" said Jones. Jerry is once again saying there's no kicker available that is better than Maher, and he might be right.

Whan asked if he thought that the players were quitting on coach Jason Garrett, Jones said "You’ve got to remember when you quit on your coach, you quit on yourself, because we’re all a part of this."

Jerry said he wouldn't share answers as to a different direction when asked about questions with Garrett's status. "I fully expect to have those questions, and I know if I did have answers - I would not share them. If you have other teams talent in mind, that's tampering, unless they're not involved in the NFL, and it wouldn't be smart if they were involved other places."

As the interview wrapped, Fan host Cory Megeors told Jones, "Ok Jerry, go fix it" to which Jones laughed, took a breath and said, "Then I’ll move on to the country’s problems. Seriously. Seriously man. That's fair. Jerry do something. Go fix it - even if it's wrong. Go fix it."

‘Do you understand bullshit?’ says #Cowboys Jerry Jones on @1053thefan before an apparent hang-up.
