DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - It appears Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun will be ready for opening day despite suffering a hip flexor/groin injury last week.

In a tweet Wednesday, Calhoun announced that he'd be back in the lineup for the club's final exhibition game tonight against the Colorado Rockies.

Rangers manager Chris Woodward confirmed Calhoun's inclusion when he joined 105.3 The Fan today.

You can listen to the entire interview below:

Woodward had previously expressed doubt that Calhoun would be ready to play when the season begins on Friday

The Rangers will likely bring Calhoun along slowly and have him be their primary designated hitter to avoid him having any setbacks. Calhoun's addition to the lineup will move Nick Solak to the bench. But that doesn't he mean he won't be getting lots of playing time.

Woodward indicated that he'll do everything he can to get Solak into the linup to give other guys a day off.
