DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Stars held their end of season media responsibilities on Thursday, and one of the most popular players was Mats Zuccarello.

Zuccarello, who will become a free agent this offseason, sounds like he wants to remain in Dallas for the foreseeable future.

“This is my team now. We’ll see what’s going on," Zuccarello told reporters. "I’m kind of a guy when someone believes in you and wants you, I usually like that. We’ll see.”

Dallas acquired the winger from the New York Rangers in a February trade to bolster their lineup for a playoff run. And bolster the lineup he did. Zuccarello had 11 points in 13 playoff games.

The Stars traded New York a 2019 second-round pick and a 2020 third-round pick that becomes a first-rounder if Dallas re-signs the 31-year-old.

Zuccarello is coming off a four-year, $18 million contract he signed with New York.
