PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - A day after being removed from the Exempt/Commissioner’s List Thursday, Anthony Chickillo spoke to reporters Friday.
Chickillo apologized to the Steelers organization, teammates and fans for the distraction his arrest for assault caused.
While it’s unknown if he will play against the Colts on Sunday at Heinz Field he is ready to help in any way he can.
“Just going to do whatever I can to help the team and move forward and just one day at a time and grow with my team,” said Chickillo.
Chickillo says Coach Mike Tomlin has been supportive and has told him to use his experience to grow as a person.
He added he is “grateful” that he is no longer facing any legal issues and hopes the NFL will also “find the same thing.”
Chickillo was arrested while at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort on October 20 when Chickillo and his girlfriend got into a physical altercation over table games according to a criminal complaint.
Charges of Simple Assault, Criminal Mischief and Harassment were all withdrawn
