Football and food -- they go hand and hand. If you're heading to AT&T Stadium this Sunday for the Cowboys' home opener against the New York Jets, you're going to want to check out the new menu items.
With a range of new items, from a BBQ burrito wrapped in a 17-inch tortilla appropriately named "The Lineman," to a take on strawberry shortcake and brisket mac and cheese, concession chef Heather Fuller said fans get just as excited about the food as they do about the game.
"I love the hype that everyone gets from the food," Fuller said.
Not only are there a ton of new tasty items to try, but AT&T Stadium works with local vendors to source their ingredients, which Fuller said helps with the freshness of their food.
It also helps them get creative, Fuller explained it was actually a vendor who came to her with a 17-inch tortilla that inspired her to make the massive "Lineman Burrito."

However, their food is also tweaked and inspired by fans. For example, she said the brisket mac and cheese came about because fans were constantly adding the brisket on top of their mac.
"Just so the fans know that we're hearing them," Fuller said. "We want to give the fans what they're asking for."
The hype for these items is real. Executive chef Marcelo Vasquez said they're anticipating high numbers on Sunday.
"We're excited because the numbers right now, for Sunday food items, they look crazy," he said. "Like we'll sell almost everything in a large scale so we're very happy."
