DALLAS (105.3) - Everyone from owner Jerry Jones to quarterback Dak Prescott wants Odell Beckham Jr. to be a Dallas Cowboy. But not much is known about the receiver's health and when he might be ready to speak with teams.
Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones gave us our biggest hint yet about Beckham's potential timeline when he joined 105.3 The Fan on Friday for his weekly visit.
"I think he's working to get there," Jones said when asked on the GBag Nation if Beckham is ready to come to the team's headquarters in Frisco to take a physical any time soon. "I don't know that it's right now, but I think in the next couple of weeks he may be ready to take a look at it."
Last Sunday, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported that Beckham "will be ready and cleared by the end of this week," while NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Beckham is expected to sign with a team in early December.
"The Dallas Cowboys have Odell Beckham Jr. in their sites. He is firmly on their radar. They have not had negotiations with his agent, but they have done regular check-ins on his health," Rapoport reported. "As far as where he is in his recovery, from what I'm told, he's doing extremely well."
Whatever the timeline may be, Dallas seems to be firmly in the race, and is certainly in need of a talent such as Beckham's to help kick start the offense.
Either way, Dallas will have to battle the likes of the Rams, Bills and others for his services.
