DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Cowboys announced Wednesday that they have released six players in order to reach the 90-man roster limit.
Defensive tackle Antwaun Woods and cornerback Saivion Smith were the first roster causalities to be announced Wednesday. Later in the day, the team announced that center Adam Redmond, defensive tackle Walter Palmore, defensive end Ladarius Hamilton and cornerback Kemon Hall were also being cut.
Redmond and Palmore played sparingly for the Cowboys last season. The 27-year-old center appeared in four games last year with Dallas, while Palmore appeared in one game and had one total tackle. North Texas' graduates Hamilton and Hall were members of the team's practice squad.
Dallas technically has 91 players left on the roster following the cuts. However, offensive tackle Isaac Alarcon's roster spot is exempted from the count due to a benefit of the NFL's player Pathway Program, according to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. Alarcon is a native of Monterrey, Mexico, and spent some time on the team's practice squad in 2020.
