DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys traded a 2024 fifth-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs for the No. 178 overall pick in the NFL Draft and used it to select Southern Miss cornerback Eric Scott Jr.
Scott initially signed with Illinois State and played in four games as a redshirt freshman in 2018 before transferring to Butler College in 2019. After one season at the Juco, he moved on to Southern Miss.
Scott is 6-0 and 197 pounds. He had two interceptions in 2022 and returned both of them for touchdowns. He also had 27 tackles, two for loss, and broke up five passes.
Scott had five interceptions and 16 pass breakups in 27 games played with the Golden Eagles.
