Cowboys walk-off in New England 35-29 with Dak TD pass

The Dallas Cowboys are never short of drama, and Sunday was no exception, with Dak Prescott walking off the New England Patriots on a 35-yard touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb in overtime to win 35-29.

But it was far from easy.

Despite a frustrating night in which they amassed 12 penalties for 115 yards, and turned the ball over twice, the Cowboys still managed to find their way into a tie thanks to a series of fortunate events on both sides of the ball.

The late push for Dallas began with Dallas trailing 21-20 late in the fourth quarter when Trevon Diggs nabbed his seventh interception and took it back for a touchdown to put Dallas back on top 26-21.

After a quick Patriots response, Dallas again found themselves down 29-26 with just minutes remaining in regulation.

By the end of that drive, however, Dallas had tied it back up with a long field goal from Greg Zuerlein, who had just missed an attempt earlier in the quarter, sending the game to overtime.

After a failed possession for New England to open the extra period, the Dallas offense, or more specifically Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, went to work, with the two connecting on three passes for 46 yards, including the game-winning walk-off touchdown.

The catch gave Lamb nine catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns on the day, and moved Dallas to 5-1 on the season.

Prescott also had arguably his best game of the season, completing 36 of 51 passes for 445 yards and three touchdowns.

As a team, the Cowboys amassed 567 yards of total offense, with 122 of those yards coming on the ground, while holding New England to 335 yards for the game -- 75 of which came on one play late in the fourth quarter.

With the win, as well as losses from the Giants, Eagles, and the Washington Football Team, Dallas (5-1) now has a stranglehold on the NFC East division heading into their bye week next weekend.

Following the week off, Dallas will head to Minnesota to take on the Vikings on Halloween night.
