DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Aldon Smith, who signed with the Seattle Seahawks last week, turned himself into Lousiana authorities on Tuesday night after a warrant was issued for his arrest on an alleged battery charge.

According to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Smith was booked on a second-degree battery charged and was released after posting a $25,000 bond.

Smith allegedly assaulted another man outside the French Press Coffee House in Chalmette Louisiana, just over eight miles from New Orleans.

Smith, 31, made his triumphant return to the NFL last season after missing four years due to a series of off-field issues. He started all 16 games for the Cowboys and had five sacks.
