DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - 'The Playmaker' may have the solution for the Cowboys' wide receiver woes: Odell Beckham Jr.

"I really believe you can have Odell Beckham because I have personal knowledge of knowing how much Odell Beckham would love to play for the Dallas Cowboys," Irvin said Thursday on 'Shan and RJ' on 105.3 The Fan. "I ain't talking about something somebody told me one time, or something I heard on the line, I'm talking about I got personal knowledge [that he wants to play for the Cowboys]."

With Dak Prescott back in the lineup last week against the Lions, the Cowboys stuck with the game plan they've been using ever since Prescott went down with a thumb injury in Week 1: Run the ball and play defense.

CeeDee Lamb had four catches for 70 yards on six targets, while Michael Gallup came up empty on his two targets. Why the lack of targets for Gallup? Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore said Monday that he had to get the receiver more opportunities. But could there be another reason for his lack of success?

"There's been a little bit of a problem I think with Michael Gallup. I just don't see the separation I have throughout his career. And I don't really see the confidence," Bryan Broaddus said on the 'Love of the Star podcast.' "Who's the last receiver to go out and really snatch a football for the Dallas Cowboys? We see guys back in the day: Michael Irvin and Dez Bryant snatch a ball. We've seen guys in the past stretch out their hands and catch passes. And with this group, you don't always see that. If there's no separation, and they're not extending, they're going to get some balls knocked down like they had all of those balls knocked down in the Eagles game."

According to Pro Football Focus, the Cowboys are No. 20 in pass routes run by their receivers and tight ends, and their offense grades out as the 25th- best unit in the NFL through seven weeks. Dallas had the No. 1 offense in the NFL in 2021.
