DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Cowboys will be looking for a new kicker this offseason as they have released Greg Zuerlein, the team announced Friday.
Zuerlein was entering the final year of a three-year, $7.5 million deal he signed with Dallas in 2020. The Cowboys saved about $2.5 million by releasing him.
The 10-year veteran kicker missed six of 35 field-goal attempts and six of 48 extra-point tries in 2021. His 82.9 field goal percentage is fourth-worst among kickers who have attempted at least 30 kicks, and his 87.5 extra point percentage was last among all kickers this season.
Zuerlein was one of five players the team released Friday.
