Today's Dallas Cowboys game at AT&T Stadium is the kick-off for the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign through the holidays.
It's been nearly five years since Ezekiel Elliott celebrated his touchdown by running straight to the big kettle behind the end zone and hopping in. With this moment nationally televised, it gave the Red Kettle a huge boost in the public's eye.
The Salvation Army and Jerry Jones choose this traditional Thanksgiving Day game because the eyes of the football-watching nation are glued to their televisions. Jones says "...as many as 60 or 70 million people will be watching."
