Are the Mavs playing it safe by re-signing Jalen Brunson?

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Mavs owner Mark Cuban and general manager Nico Harrison are already making improvements to a roster that reached the Western Conference Finals, bringing in Rockets center Christian Wood in a five-player trade.

Dallas has no picks in Thursday's NBA Draft after they sent the No. 26 overall pick to Houston in the deal to get Wood. They could make a move to get back into the draft, but if they did, it would likely be for a second-round pick.

With no picks in tow, the Mavs will now turn their attention toward their biggest item of business this offseason, Jalen Brunson.

According to Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer, Jalen Brunson is telling teammates that "it's basically a done deal" that he'll sign back with Dallas when free agency begins on June 30.

Bringing back the Mavs second-best player seems like a no-brainer, but are Cuban and Harrison playing it safe? Shan and RJ discussed that on Wednesday's show. Listen to the podcast or watch the video above.
