DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - it appears as if the Dallas Mavericks will need more heroics from Luka Doncic if they want to have any chance of beating the Clippers on Thursday night, as forward/center Kristaps Porzingis' chances of playing are in doubt.

"KP (Porzingis) is working around the clock (with the training staff) and the medical people that are here. He doesn't want to close the door on playing, but I'm just not optimistic with watching how this going. We won't know until tomorrow for sure because he wants to leave the door open, he desperately wants to play. It's a tough spot," Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said Wednesday. "My hope is he wakes up tomorrow morning feeling really good and that he can play. I would like to be more optimistic than I am."

Porzingis has sat out the last two games with what the team is calling a sore knee.

As for the Mavericks other players listed as questionable for tomorrow night (Dorian Finney-Smith, Trey Burke and Luka Doncic), Carlisle is feeling "optimistic" about their chances of playing.
