DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The NBA has spoken and it appears they aren't interested in protecting one of the best players in the league.
The NBA fined Los Angeles Clippers Marcus Morris $35,000 for "recklessly striking" Mavericks star Luka Doncic in Game 6 of their playoff series. However, the play didn't warrant a suspension, Shams Charania reports.
Additionally, the NBA fined Doncic $15,000 for throwing the ball at an official in Game 6.
On the play in question, Morris swatted at Doncic' head as he was attempting to drive to the basket. The officials ruled the foul was a Flagrant 2 and ejected him from the game.the involved in several questionable plays throughout the series.
Morris was involved in two other questionable plays in the series that the Mavericks requested the league to look further into. He wasn't assessed any punishments or fines for those plays.
